Shobana Early Life
Shobana was born in Thiruvananthapuram, India, on March 21, 1970, to parents Chandrakumar Pillai and Anandam Chandrakumar.
She is related to the well-known Indian dancers and actresses Lalitha, Padmini, and Ragini, who are known as the Travancore sisters. The actress Sukumari was the sister of her father. Her cousin is Malayalam superstar Ambika Sukumaran. His cousins Vineeth and Krishna are both actors in the Malayalam language. Ananthanarayani is the name of the girl they raised as their own.
Shobhana doesn’t have any friends or partners. In 2011, when she adopted a baby girl named Anantha Narayani, she found herself raising a child by herself.
Shobana Career
The novels Rudraveena (1988), Abhinandana (1988), Thalapathi (1991), and Manichitrathazhu (1992) are among her best. She is a skilled Bharatanatyam dancer and opened her own dance school in 1994. In 2006, the Government of India gave her the Padma Shri, one of India’s highest civilian honors.
Shobana made her acting debut in the 1972 Bollywood film Amar Prem. However, her first major role was in the 1975 Malayalam film April 18. (1984). The movie was a commercial and critical hit, making her a well-known name. After the success of Kanamarayathu in 1984, T.P. Balagopalan M.A. (1986), Chilambu (1986), Nadodikkattu (1987), Kalikkalam (1990), and Maya Mayuram (1994), she went on to star in many more films She got her first National Award for her performance in the 1993 psychological thriller Manichitrathazhu. After that, she was in a number of critically acclaimed films, including Hitler (1996), Agni Sakshi (1999), and Valliettan (2001).
Her work on the empowering film Mitr: My Friend (2002) won her a second National Prize for her. You may also know Shobana from Dance Like a Man (2003), an English film, and Mambazhakkalam, a blockbuster Malayalam film, both of which she starred in. She has recently been seen in Apna Aasman (2007), Mere Baap Pehle Aap (2008), and the Rajinikanth hit Kochadaiiyaan. She will release the novel Varane Avashyamund in 2020.
