She got her Pre-degree at All Saints College in Thiruvananthapuram, where she was also the University Union Councilor. She got her degree in psychology from Government College for Women in Thiruvananthapuram. She started college as Vice Chairperson of the College Union and finished as Chairperson of the Union and SPIC MACAY Campus Coordinator.
Parvathi got both her Master’s and her Ph.D. in psychology from the Kariavattom campus of Kerala University in Thiruvananthapuram. For her Juris Doctorate, she went to the Kerala Law Academy Law College in Thiruvananthapuram. B. Parvathi’s husband is Satheesan, who works for the C-DIT for the State of Kerala. Their son, Ananthakrishnan, is done with college.

In 2007, Shaji Kailas put her in the Malayalam movie Time, which was the start of her career. She first appeared in the movie as an anchor on Asianet’s “Ulkazhcha.” If you can’t find a citation, it’s safe to say that Parvathi has been in at least 100 movies. Some of the movies she’s been in that got her noticed are Neelathamara, Leela, Kanyaka Talkies, Munnariyippu, Take Off, Comrade in America, Godha, Game Over, C U Soon, and Maara. She has also worked with the “Abhinaya” theatre group in Thiruvananthapuram. MG Jyothish and Parvati have worked together on the plays The Lady from the Sea (Sagara Kanyaka), The Lesson, and Bhagavadajjugam.
She wrote the book Mayoorageethangal and helped Damodar Narayanan make the albums Sreeprasadam and Megamalhar, both of which had music by her.
