Mohanlal Biography

Mohanlal Education

He received a degree in commerce from Mahatma Gandhi College and then worked as a teacher at Government Model Boys Higher Secondary School in Thiruvananthapuram. A stage production of Computer Boy gave Mohanlal his first acting role at the tender age of twelve, when he took on the persona of a ninety-year-old man. He won the Kerala state wrestling championship in 1977 and 1978.

Mohanlal Early Life

On May 21, 1960, in the small village of Elanthoor in Kerala’s Pathanamthitta district, Mohanlal Viswanathan entered this world. He is Viswanathan Nair and Santhakumari’s youngest child and he served as Law Secretary for the state of Kerala’s government. It was his older brother Pyarelal who was the king (died in 2000, during a military exercise). When Mohanlal was young, his family settled in the Thiruvananthapuram neighbourhood of Mudavanmugal.

When Mohanlal was only 18 years old, he made his acting debut in the censored Malayalam film Thiranottam. The film wasn’t released to the public until 2005. His first film role was the antagonist in the 1980 romantic comedy Manjil Virinja Pookkal. Throughout the years that followed, he worked his way up to supporting roles while maintaining his vile reputation. Rajavinte Makan, a crime drama released in 1986, was the culmination of a year in which he had a streak of critically acclaimed cinema roles.

Mohanlal Career

The first film in which Mohanlal starred was released in 1978, and it was called Thiranottam. Mohanlal co-produced and directed the film with his friends Maniyanpilla Raju, Suresh Kumar, Unni, Priyadarshan, and Ravi Kumar. Mohanlal portrayed Kuttappan, a mentally handicapped butler, in the film. The film’s premiere was postponed because to censorship concerns. It took a total of 25 years to complete and release this film. Manjil Virinja Pookkal was Fazil’s first feature film, and it starred Mohanlal as the film’s main antagonist when it was released in 1980. The movie did really well at the box office.

Friends of Mohanlal’s had seen an ad for Navodaya Studio and submitted an application on his behalf. Before a jury of veteran directors, he gave an audition for the role. Even though Fazil and Jijo Appachan gave him high marks, the other two students gave him low marks because they didn’t like his appearance.

Mohanlal suggested that his young good looks might have resembled the antagonist’s in a 2012 interview with Reader’s Digest. By 1983, Mohanlal had appeared in nearly 25 films, the great majority of which had him playing villains. His breakthrough came with the release of the albums Ente Mohangal Poovaninju, Iniyengilum, Visa, Attakkalasham, Kaliyil Alpam Karyam, Ente Mamattukkuttiyammakku, Engane Nee Marakkum, Unaru, and Sreekrishna Parunthu.
