Mohanlal Upcoming Movies: Superstar of Malayalam film industry Mohanlal is always busy with multiple projects in hand. He already had multiple releases in this year with the movies ’12th Man’, ‘Aaraattu’, ‘Bro Daddy’ . ’12th Man’ & ‘Bro Daddy’ skipped the theatrical release and premiered directly on Disney+Hotstar OTT platform. 12th Man is one more film in the combination of Mohanlal and Jeethu Joseph.
Unfortunately for Navodaya Films, Mohanlal’s audition dates coincided with the National Wrestling Championship being held in Delhi. Production company wanted a new face to play Narendran in Fazil’s first film, Manjil Virinja Pookkal. He decided to pursue auditions and hasn’t looked back since. This love film from 1980, in which he played a nasty spouse, is now widely regarded as a classic. Even though his first role was in the unreleased comedy film Thiranottam when he was only 18, this is still regarded his first feature picture. A group of his pals made it at home and released it 25 years later. In the three years following his debut, he appeared in nearly 25 films, almost all in villainous roles. Padayottam, the pioneering 70 mm film of Malayali Cinema, also included his first acclaimed acting part the same year.
When he played the hero in the movie Ivide Thudangunnu, he first found mainstream success. His 1984 comedy film Poochakkoru Mookkuthi, which he co-directed with his buddy and fellow filmmaker Priyadarshan, is another cult classic. There have been over 25 box office smashes produced by the team since then. He made his debut in the field in 1985, with the soundtrack to the film Onnanam Kunnil Oradi Kunnil. In 1984, the multitalented actor also founded the production company Casino Films. In 1986 alone, he appeared in no less than 34 movies. His performance in the comedy-drama T.P Balagopalan M.A. made him the youngest actor ever to win the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor. His breakout performances in the crime plays Rajavinte Makan (1986) and Irupatham Noottandu (1987) established him as a major player in the field. As of 2015, the tragicomedy Chitram (1988) continues to be the film that has played in a single theatre for the longest amount of time (58 weeks). The National Awards judges singled him out for praise for his performance in Kireedam that year.

Mohanlal has ten upcoming projects that are undergoing shoots and post-production work and will be released by the end of 2022 and some of them releasing in 2023. There are many interesting combinations in this line up. He is once again working for Jeethu Joseph for the third part of Drishyam franchise and he is also working on the sequel for Lucifer and makers have released an announcement video recently confirming the project. It will be a treat for Mohanlal fans, as the actor has some interesting and crazy movie releases ahead.
