Mahesh Narayanan Biography

Mahesh Narayanan Education

Graduating from University College Thiruvananthapuram, he enrolled at the M.G.R. Government Film and Television Training Institute in Tamil Nadu, where he eventually found work as an ad editor. He cut documentaries and short films before breaking through with the Malayalam film Rathri Mazha, which went on to win five Kerala State Film Awards.

Mahesh Narayanan Early Life

Dr. Geetha and Narayanan Narayanan had their son Mahesh in Thiruvananthapuram. His sibling who is younger than him is still a kid. He and his wife, Ramya, are parents to a little girl. Among his best works as a director are Take Off (2017), C U Soon (2020), and Malik (2020). He first gained recognition for his editing work on the Kamal Haasan films Vishwaroopam and Vishwaroopam II.

Mahesh Narayanan Career

He is primarily recognised for his work as an editor, which includes the films Beautiful, Traffic, Kanyaka Talkies, Viswaroopam, and Ennu Ninte Moideen. After establishing his reputation as a skilled editor, Mahesh turned his attention to writing. His debut feature film, the Malayalam film Mili, premiered in Kerala to widespread critical acclaim in 2015.

In the 2017 Indian drama-thriller Take Off, Mahesh Narayanan makes his acting debut as the main protagonist. Based on the true events of 2014, when Indian nurses were stationed in Tikrit, Iraq, the film depicts their harrowing ordeal. Parvathy Thiruvothu, Kunchacko Boban, and Fahadh Faasil were particularly impressive in their supporting roles. Writing it was P. V. Shajikumar and Mahesh Narayanan. The movie was shot in several locations in Dubai and Kerala.

Take Off was released to the public on March 24th, 2017. Box office receipts were high for this film. This film grossed over 40 crores and was in theatres for over 125 days. Several foreign film festivals, including the International Film Festival of India and the International Film Festival of Kerala, screened the film as part of their respective competitions.

It won a Special Jury Award at the 48th Annual International Film Festival of India. Five Kerala State Awards were granted to the film, including Best Debut Director to Mahesh Narayanan.
In June of 2020, Mahesh Narayanan said that he would be directing an experimental film starring Fahadh Faasil. According to Mahesh, the film was less of a feature and more of a tutorial on using an iPhone.

The movie’s rumoured runtime of 60–65 minutes was also mentioned. Principal photography is set to take place at Faasil’s place. The Kerala Film Employees Federation (KFEF) gave the go-ahead to shoot, but the Kerala Film Producers Association (KFPA) declined due to the widespread spread of the deadly COVID-19 virus. The shooting on August 21st, however, was smooth sailing.

After the film debuted on Amazon Prime Video, it received overwhelmingly positive reviews from industry insiders. There has never been a film like this made in the country before using CGI. The screen-life category at the 42nd Moscow International Film Festival featured C U Soon.
