Dulquer Salmaan Upcoming Movies: Dulquer Salmaan is busy with projects in multiple languages. He already had few releases this year with the movies Hey Sinamika in Tamil, Salute that skipped theatrical release and premiered on Sony Liv in Malayalam and the blockbuster ‘Sita Ramam’ that was released in multiple languages later including Hindi.
As a member of the relatively inexperienced cast and crew, Dulquer made his big screen debut in the 2012 crime drama Second Show, which was well reviewed and became a surprise smash. Ustad Hotel, written by Anjali Menon and directed by Anwar Rasheed, was his second film. Dulquer’s acting was praised, and the film was a commercial and critical success. In the same year, he starred as a husband out for revenge after his wife’s murder in the criminal thriller Theevram, which received mixed reviews upon its release and only mild commercial success.
ABCD: American-Born Confused Desi, a comedy starring Dulquer, had a strong opening weekend in 2013 and helped set the tone for a successful year. Dulquer made his first appearance in a playback singing role in this film. Later, in 5 Sundarikal’s programme Kullante Bharya, he portrayed a disabled photographer using a wheelchair. The next film to make ripples at the box office was Neelakasham Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi, a road movie directed by Sameer Thahir and praised for its subject, visual style, and acting. Although the Tamil version of Samsaaram Aarogyathinu Haanikaram (named Vaayai Moodi Pesavum) was well-received, Dulquer’s next three outings—Salalah Mobiles, Pattam Pole, and Samsaaram Aarogyathinu Haanikaram—were romantic comedies that turned out to be box office flops.
